Laterza is located in southern Puglia and is built in a similar fashion to her more famous neighbor Matera.

Trulli Tops



The unique cone shape are roofs of trulli, houses particular to Puglia. These were photographed in Alberobello, a town famous for the density and quiality of trulli.

Wall Flowers

Poppies

These are an spring, early summer flower found all over Italy. These were found growing out of a wall in Lucania. The red and green make a nice contrast to the stone.

Spouting mouths

Italy has many great fountains but some of the most practical ones are these long troughs that fill with water. This makes for easy access for man and beast alike.

This fountain is located in Laterza in southern Puglia.

Acquedotto

Aqueduct...Lucanian style.

When most people think of aqueducts in Italy they picture an ancient Roman structure leading into Roma, this structure however is less than 200 years old and is found near the town of Moliterno in Basilicata.

Relaxing by the lagoon

This sculpture is along Wade Lagoon in Cleveland. The steeple is the Euclid Epworth Church, affectionately known by locals as "The Church of the Holy Oil Can".
